Ever since I was a little girl I have always been in the kitchen watching my mum or grandmother cook and coming from a Lebanese family it’s always about food and feeding people. From when I was 12 I started cooking and I love it. I am a very determined person so when I got the idea for this I was excited to share my cooking disasters and triumphs.
This week it is a delicious recipe from the Two Greedy Italians Eat Italy cookbook, which features the famous greedy Italian Antonin Carluccio whose restaurant I love and whenever I’m in town it’s an excuse to go and eat there. However, this recipe is Pappardelle con Speck e Porcini which is a Contaldo recipe. I chose this recipe because I love mushrooms and pasta plus I have always wanted to master the art of a cream pasta sauce.
Well making it was easy enough and it had that great smell of promise that it was going to be a good meal. I especially like the addition of thyme it gives a great flavour to the sauce. Now listen people cream is a very dangerous ingredient too much and its just s pool of cream but too little and it’s just dry. Now it says to put in 300ml of double cream and my mum and me eat for two each. We both agreed that it was too much cream because in my mind cream should soak up the ingredients plus there should never be too much.
Overall, it’s a great recipe especially for students because it only takes 15 minutes to make tastes delicious. It is a great choice by the two greedy Italians. This book is filled with beautiful recipes. Tune in next week to see what concoction I decide to make or fail to make.
