My Pitch To You:

I haven’t read a good SCI-FI thriller in ages and this one does the trick. It is relevant to modern day and a page turner that I couldn’t put down. It is a fascinating idea that the solution to our pollution problems is not to find one and just put those who can afford it in suits. It is so close to home and it’s a bit scary. I liked the world a lot because it was very close to our reality but also had that Ghost in the Shell feel to it. I would love to know more about the history of the world and how it got to that point of desperation.

Zhou as a character is very much the brooding and solitary type that you would find in The OC and absolutely gorgeous but he has this softness to him that makes him a fascinating character to read as he sees the world differently from his friends. I like that Cindy tests this character’s personality and skills to the limit in this book as you really get an overall picture who he is and where he is come from. Daiyu well she is certainly not your typical perfect rich girl with no personality she has the kindness to her and this want to know more about the world outside her bubble. At first I really didn’t like her and found her so clingy and annoying but after a while she grew on me and am looking forward to see what she will do in the sequel especially after that ending. Dr Nataraj I loved her she was a great motherly figure that you know you want to please but also she would never give up trying to do what is right no matter what stood in her way. Victor and Zhou that was a great bromance that turned into brotherly love and was such a great friendship to have in the book.

In terms of plot it was fast paced and full to the brim of action which I loved with some super cool fight scenes and steamy romance scenes that gave the plot that all round fell to it. I like that you never had time to process anything it was event and reaction as it gave it that feel of a revolution brewing and that you couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. It was very tense throughout but especially at the end where everything was like OMG are they all going to make it what will happen next.

Overall, this is a great piece fiction that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish and can’t wait to see what happens in the next book with these characters plus how they will survive in this dangerous world. This is great for 12 upwards and anyone who loves a good space thriller that is steeped in reality of where we are heading as a planet. It is a book where you just want to know more about the characters and world so if you need something that will really grip you pick this up.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
